Fields of Expertise:
I have an interest in cardiac physiology and educational research. I also have a passion for health and wellness which has led me to creating an elective called Lifestyle Modifications. In this elective course, pharmacy students learn about various lifestyle modifications given to patients for disease therapy, disease prevention, and/or stress reduction. Students learn about and participate in these lifestyle modification activities and reflect on their experiences from the patient’s perspective.
Research:
My current research interests are related to health and the lifestyle modifications that aid in achieving overall wellness. I created an elective course called Lifestyle Modifications and plan to evaluate how this course affected pharmacy students’ knowledge about lifestyle modifications that can used instead of or in conjunction with mediation to improve health or reduce stress. In addition, I plan to assess how the activities in this course affected the pharmacy students’ personal wellbeing.
Personal Highlights:
I love spending time with my husband, two boys, and two dogs. We are an active family and enjoy spending time outside, competing together in sports and other activities, and trying new adventures. My two boys and I compete in Ninja Warrior and I actually competed on Season 14 of the TV show “American Ninja Warrior!”
